Volvo Letting XC90 Switched to Geely Brand

Geely, the legal owner of Volvo began to show its power against the Swedish brand. Medium SUV, the Volvo XC90 is ready to be released as Geely brand.

Reported by local media, China National Business Daily (05/17/2012), Geely will use the XC90 platform to develop new SUV. Also revealed, there is an agreement signed March 9, 2012, Volvo gave the XC90 to Geely.

Unfortunately, the media information from China is not complete because there is no certainty, whether the decision to supply Volvo unit to Geely or simply offer the name of the model. Currently Volvo is developing a new generation of XC90 which is ready to launch into the global market in 2014.

Currently XC90 made ​​with P2 platform and manufactured since 1999 and used on several other models such as S80, including the company's previous owner, Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedan.
